Mad about Plaid (& Gingham)

Guess I'm not the only one Mad about Plaid (& Gingham)!

Look at Terry Richardson swimming in a sea of Plaid & Gingham!

I have died and gone to plaid & gingham heaven :)

I've had a plaid obsession since... high school? And for some reason I just can't help but fall in love with them. It's something I've been trying to get over, but I don't think I ever will.

Change is Constant

3 months into my hairstyle, (which I think is the longest I've held on to one hairstyle in quite awhile) and I want to change it again. Why?

Coz I saw this pic:

I'm loving the whole I just got out of bed look but I still bothered to style it. I love the weird awkward character it has. Hmmm... but I'm still loving my hair... Maybe for next school year? We'll see... Only time will tell

Terry-ble News

As some of you may know, Terry Richardson, one of my idols, is in the middle of a scandalous controversy.

Photobucket

You can read about it HERE & HERE

This is what he had to say on his online diary:

I just want to take a moment to say I’m really hurt by the recent and false allegations of insensitivity and misconduct. I feel fortunate to work with so many extraordinary people each and every day. I’ve always been considerate and respectful of the people I photograph and I view what I do as a real collaboration between myself and the people in front of the camera. To everyone who has embraced and supported me and my work, I am so grateful. Thank you, it means a lot.
Terry

Let's hope everything will be alright.

Are you a liver lover?

Sorry for the corny title but I just remembered this commercial:

Quick off topic post. Just wanted to share this health information with you, guys.
As my Grandma always reminded me: "Health is Wealth". So true.

(info copy pasted from e-mail I got)

The main causes of liver damage are:

1. Sleeping too late and waking up too late are main cause. (guilty of this)

2. Not urinating in the morning.

3 . Too much eating.

4. Skipping breakfast (guilty of this)

5. Consuming too much medication.

6. Consuming too much preservatives, additives, food coloring, and artificial sweetener. (I think I'm guilty of this?)

7. Consuming unhealthy cooking oil.
As much as possible reduce cooking oil use when frying, which includes even the best cooking oils like olive oil. Do not consume fried foods when you are tired. (guilty of this)

 ---------------

The top five cancer-causing foods are:

1.. Hot Dogs
Because they are high in nitrates, the Cancer Prevention Coalition advises that children eat no more than 12 hot dogs a month. If you can't live without hot dogs, buy those made without sodium nitrate.

2. Processed meats and Bacon
Also high in the same sodium nitrates found in hot dogs, bacon, and other processed meats raise the risk of heart disease. The saturated fat in bacon also contributes to cancer.

3. Doughnuts
Doughnuts are cancer-causing double trouble.. First, they are made with white flour, sugar, and hydrogenated oils, then fried at high temperatures. Doughnuts, says Adams , may be the worst food you can possibly eat to raise your risk of cancer..

4. French fries
Like doughnuts, French fries are made with hydrogenated oils and then fried at high temperatures. They also contain cancer- causing acryl amides which occur during the frying process. They should be called cancer fries, not French fries, said Adams .

5. Chips, crackers, and cookies
All are usually made with white flour and sugar. Even the ones whose labels claim to be free of trans-fats generally contain small amounts of trans-fats.

Stay healthy, guys!

Photo Project #4: DIY Snoot (for strobes & speed lights) (redo)

Same as the old one, just diff materials.

Materials Needed:
Fastening tape/velcro , Cutter
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Ballpen , Rubber mat thingy
PhotobucketPhotobucket
& a ruler.
You can use other materials for the snoot. Anything that will give the same effect. As you've seen in my first attempt I simply used black colored paper.

Measure how much of the rubber mat thingy you need & cut to size.
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Stick fastening tape/velcro to both ends as shown.
PhotobucketPhotobucket
Attach to strobe or speed light
PhotobucketPhotobucket
And voila!
PhotobucketPhotobucket

Sample pictures for these are what you have seen from my Androgynous Shoot (Part 1) post.

P.S. for strobes, don't keep the modeling light on, the rubber mat and the heat from the light don't go well together.
Have fun shooting!

PRINT SCAN COPY

I forgot to mention that I finally have my own Printer... Scanner and Copier!
A 3-in-1 piece of machine beauty.

That means no more lining up at print shops for me!
No more viruses infecting my USB!
No more need to do papers super ahead of time just to allocate time for printing! (the bad thing is this leaves a lot more time for procrastination which is bad hehehe)

I got a
Canon PIXMA MP198

Movies I've Seen List: Alice in Wonderland

Watched this last Tuesday. Yes, on a weekday. Why? Because I had time to kill while waiting for my sister's blazer to be delivered to Topshop Greenbelt from Topshop Bonifacio High Street. Her blazer wasn't arriving until 6 P.M. that evening but I had to be in Makati earlier than that if I didn't want to be caught in traffic during rush hour. So to kill time, I watched Alice in Wonderland.

I didn't really like this movie very much. While it was visually amazing, the story for me was JUST OK. And the 3D-ness of it was not worth it. This is the second movie I've watched on 3D (Avatar being the first) and I have come to a conclusion that I don't like watching movies on 3D. Aside from the glasses not fitting well on me (because the glasses are designed with Caucasians in mind with their high nose bridge >.< how racist is that, and no I'm not bitter or jealous thank you very much. I like my nose just fine ;p), I just find wearing glasses very uncomfortable. I feel like I get a migraine when I wear them for a long period of time.

I give this movie 3.5 out of 5 stars.
I think I like the cartoon version better even if I don't really remember much of it.
I will go download it now and watch it again.

Toma

Hey, Guys! Remember this baby I found in Baguio?

Photobucket

Well, I'ma call him Toma just like it's brand coz we all know how bad my memory is and it's more convenient that I name this camera with a name that's conveniently printed right in front of it. Hehe :)

So Toma is an old school film camera, so old school that you have to rewind the film manually after you finish your roll of film. I kinda broke the rewinder thing... you'll see what I mean in a future post.

 ANYWAYS...
Here are some pictures from the 1st roll of film I used on Toma I had printed:

I like how the shots turned out even if they weren't sharp. I cleaned the camera after seeing these. Hopefully the next roll will look better.

I'm finally done editing the photos from the Androgynous Shoot. Watch out for them. Ima post them in awhile :)
